front door updatesWe had the most perfect spring weather in NYC on Saturday! It was so nice to come home from a week of travel (I was in Barcelona last week working on a short film about the city’s architecture) to sunny skies and warm temps. It literally felt like early summer. Then, Sunday arrived and with it came winter like temps and freezing rain. WOOF! Alas, yesterday’s U-turn from spring to winter had me longing for the return of warmer days. So I turned to these three front door updates that I styled using wreaths, planters and doormats from GrandinRoad. If you’re looking for a spring update that will add personality to your home then these front door updates are the perfect project. Painting your front door and sprucing it up with new accessories is an ideal way to give your abode a refresh for the new season. Let’s dive into a closer look at each of the three front door updates.

1. NAUTICAL CHIC
No surprise that these nautical front door updates are my favorite – they are perfect inspiration for our beach house! I took my lead from the rope wreath, deciding to paint the front door a deep navy to create contrast with the light rope and shingle siding. The fishermen’s sconce plays into the maritime feel and the brass hardware added a sophisticated touch, Meanwhile, the monogrammed doormat prevents the look from being too thematic.front door updates2. SPRING FLING
Thanks to it’s vibrant pink color, this is the most playful of the three front door updates I styled for spring. I wanted to play off the the boxwood monogramed letter that hangs on the door and continue its instantly sporing-like vibe with the color many associate with spring: pink! Pattern was introduced through the Lola doormat, which in the navy colorway pairs beautifully with – and tempers – the hot pink front door. These front door updates are perfect if you want to make a bold and bubbly statement that packs a punch!front door updates3. COLORFUL CLASSIC
I love these traditional front door updates because they have a timeless and classic vibe that will stand the test of time. The floral wreath breathes life into this front door and prevents it from looking or feeling too stuffy. Isn’t the lion head door knocker so cute?! I think it’s my favorite detail of this front door. Closely followed by those charcoal urns – love! Which of these three front doors is your favorite?

  1. I don’t usually like wreaths, but I’m loving the rope one around the anchor door knocker. It’s simple, but really pops and frames the anchor perfectly. If I lived by the coast then I’d love this.

    Hi Will
I’m drawn to all three in different ways…the wreath of the first one the color of the second and I really love the planters in the last picture. I would mix and match.
    Thanks for the post

  3. Any chance you know the paint color used on door 3? I adore it!
