In my first Bright.Bazaar book you may remember I had a colour cocktail called The Monochrome Magic. Today I’m keen to shine the light once again on a monochromatic approach to decorating by featuring the Chicago-based brand, Unison Home.. The aim of Unison is to create an assortment of homewares that fuse modernity with a timeless appeal. Their textiles and accessories are 100% on point thanks to a use of graphic pattern, pops of color and a unique aesthetic. Click through after the jump to see my round up of 15 must-have monochrome home accessories!
Unison seeks out and collaborates with an array of independent artists and designers to build their collections. I love how they offer distinctive accessories, kitchenware and art that provide the opportunity to invite an effortlessly clean style and functionality to a home. No more so than with their black and white pieces which are perfect for creating a ‘marvellous monochrome’ design statement.I’ve written about my love for monochromatic spaces many times here on the blog. In fact, the living room of my old London apartment that was on the UK cover for my first book was a monochromatic scheme that I accented with a bright yellow couch. I miss it! In my old living room I used graphic black and white patterns (stripes and Scandi trees) to create a striking visual statement in the space. The latest collection from Unison is perfect for doing the same thing, as the beautiful fall table setting shown above demonstrates. The folks at Unison work with sewers right near their home base in Chicago, which allows them to oversee the many details of their domestically produced items to ensure high quality. But how to bring the marvellous monochrome look home, I hear you ask? Fear not, because I’ve pulled together my edit of the 15 must-have monochrome home accessories you need this fall! These pieces are perfect for adding to, or starting, a black and white scheme in your home. From block cushions and graphic grid throws to black flatware and structural candleholders. Start to introduce these items across your space to build up a black and white palette. Keep things as they are for Scandi cool, or mix the look up with a playful pop of accent colour. Yellow or mint work really well against the chic monochrome palette. Remember just one or two items in the accent colour per scheme are all that’s needed to make a stylish colour statement. That flatware is so eye-catching – love the clean lines! It was reassuring to see the splashes of mint with the monochrome, something I’ve been trying in my own space!
Cheers!

We love the monocrhome style, it match with the Scandinavian style which we are a big fan too. Oh! The mint colour touch is fascinating, very summery and fresh *Still waiting for summer here in London BTW.
