I realised recently that the last time I carried out a design update for Bright.Bazaar was almost two(!) years ago in 2012. At that time I moved from Blogger to WordPress and while that move certainly gave me more flexibility with Bright.Bazaar’s design than I’d had before, I’ve never really fallen in love with the platform. During a recent conversation with my friends Susan and William we came to talk about Squarespace and how they were obsessed with how easy it was to use to create a stylish looking *and* easy to update site. I was intrigued to find out more so I hot-footed my way over the internet cobbles to Squarespace to hunt out some examples of blogs and websites using the platform.
These five sites instantly caught my eye because of their clean, modern and effortlessly chic aesthetic. For me there’s a definite shift happening in blogging, by which I mean blogs, rather than the ever popularising additional social channels. The way we consume content has changed and there’s no longer a hunger for daily editorial content on a blog as one can interact with a blog author across various other channels. That’s what makes these Squarespace designs so brilliant – they make templates that are perfect for cleaner, fresher and down-right-easier-to-read blogs. After all, I don’t think a monthly archive widget is relevant anymore, for example. I’m really tempted to redesign Bright.Bazaar so it just highlights my visual aesthetic without too much ‘noise’, and in a format that’s suited to today’s way of consuming content onto the go. I’m really excited for Bright.Bazaar 3.0 and can’t wait to share it with you. In the meantime, if you’re as tempted as I am to make the jump over to Squarespace, then you’re in luck because the guys at their HQ are kindly offering Bright.Bazaar readers 10% off with the code: BAZAAR10. Have a brilliant weekend, folks!

I’m on Squarespace and love it.
@Jee – Really good to know, thank you. Love your site!
I’ve made the move from blogger to squarespace
last year and updating my site is so much easier now!
I love their clean design and you don’t have to be a computer geek to create a nice looking page.
Go squarespace! 😀
@Hester – That’s so good to know, thank you!
I use Squarespace for all my sites, including my blog and absolutely love it. I have been using it for about 18 months now and have been so happy with it.
And they have really great customer service too!
Looking forward to Bright Bazaar 3.0! x
@Emily – Your sites are beautiful so that’s a great sign! Thank you 🙂
I love my squarespace site. A huge bonus for me is the support – The longest it’s ever taken them to respond to one of my questions is about 15 minutes! Just amazing
@Laura – 15 minutes?! Wow that’s incredible!
We’re about to relaunch the Sparrow and Co. site on Squarespace!
Intuitive platform and great customer service.
@Samuel – This makes me even more tempted to sign up! Can’t wait to see your new site, Sam!
Look forward to checking these out Will! My (in desperate need of an update 😉 portfolio is on squarespace too! As I’m so bad at regular updates on the blog, I was wondering whether to just concentrate on adding new shots onto there instead every so often and then just doing tumblr instead!?! Hope to see you soon hugs xx
@Caroline – Personally I’m not a huge Tumblr fan (it’s SO hard to find the original source of an image) but I think you could do something simple and image-led with Squarespace instead so could be a great option for you to consider. Hope to see you soon too! Big hugs xx

Some stunning examples there! I’ve been thinking of moving for the last 3 years to another platform. Definitely considering Squarespace now! Thanks for the info! xx
