You might recall my love of Lexington Company: I have waxed lyrical about their homeware collections right here on the blog in 2010, 2013 and 2015. So I was a pleasure for me to be not only meet the founders, Kristina and Tommy Lindhe, but also style and photograph the Swedish home for my second book, Dream Decor! Speaking of books, Kristina has a new book herself. Living With Lexington is a riot of the classic east coast, preppy style that her brand is so well known. I’m highlighting some of my favorite bedroom spaces from the book here today – click through to see these inspiring summer bedroom decor ideas!
This gorgeous space is from the ‘How To Create The Perfect Bedroom’ chapter of the book. And boy, doesn’t it look perfect! I love the idea of hanging sheer white drapes around a four-poster bed to give a calming, ethereal feel to a bedroom. Dressing the bed in mix and match fabrics and patterns works well because the color palette is a consistent throughout. A jute rug underfoot helps to anchor all the pattern and color, while also referencing the natural hue of the bamboo bed frame.Looking for an idea to update your bedroom for summer that airs more on the neutral scale of color? No, problem! Kristina has you covered with this textural bedroom scheme in the book. I like the idea of a rustic wooden headboard to add warmth to the cooler palette of white and grey. Accessorizing the space with roses, peonies and other summer blooms and greenery is a lovely way to invite the season indoors, too.I love how Kristina’s book is both an autobiography and an inspirational source for interior design. Two of the things I have loved most about living in NYC is being in close to the Hamptons and how we have four proper seasons in the city – both of these things are inspirations and topics that are covered in this wonderful book! I highly recommend adding a copy to your book arsenal so you too can get inspired by Kristina’s world of casual luxury, celebrations, and farmers’ markets. Love these Will. I’m moving off to sunnier shores too so this is perfect inspiration 🙂 Hope you’re well. Lisa X
@Lisa – How exciting! Congratulations on your move! 🙂 x
Will, quick question. Do people actually live in these houses or are they only rented for photoshoots? I feel like I’ll go crazzzy if all the walls, doors and windows in my house were white. If it’s only for shoots though, I understand that it helps to keep the focus on the thing being shot. BTW you should make more YouTube videos.

@Soutrik – Sometimes photo shoots take place in ‘location houses’ or studios (i.e. places specifically designed for shoots with extra space and lots of natural light etc.) and sometimes they take place in real homes. Thanks re: the YouTube videos, glad you are enjoying them! 🙂
I love these all! Thank you for sharing this book. Great inspiration!
@Grace – Thanks so much for stopping by! Glad you loved the book as much as I did!
