Hurrah! We made it to Friday, you guys. With the festivities of the holidays all but a distant memory and the return to the daily grind (often under a cloud of grey skies!), January can feel like a bit of a drag, don’t you think? So, it’s good to celebrate making it through the week! Do you have fun plans for the weekend? I’m hoping to head out into the city to continue practicing my photography, as well as catching a movie. There are so many films I’d like to see right now – Manchester by The Sea, Lion, La La Land, Fences and more! Have you seen any of these? Which would you recommend? Before I head out for the weekend, I wanted to share a few photographs of the colors in Stockholm that I captured during my brief stay in the city over NYE. Most of these are just quick on-the-go iPhone snaps but I kinda like the raw feel to them. It’s an eclectic mix of street scenes, architecture, colors, vignettes and interiors – a colorful mix of Scandi scenes that caught my eye. I love Stockholm so I hope you will enjoy this little iPhone photo diary!
Some how, no matter where you go in Scandinavia, the bikes of their cities always seem to be perfectly propped against colorful walls, just like this. The warm colors of the buildings are a perfect counterbalance to the darker, grey days of Scandinavian winters. These stylishly wrapped stems caught my eye at a local grocery store. I was tempted to bring a bunch home to my Air bnb!Walking the cobbled streets of the Södermalm to hunt for colors in Stockholm felt like a walk through the set of a fairytale movie.Just before I headed to the airport I captured the soft light puddling into my Air bnb apartment. Then, it was time for a delicious pastry and to jump on the train, when I spotted this colorful escalator in the subway – so cool. What’s inspiring you from my Stockholm iPhone snaps?// Photography by Will Taylor

The sky is so beautiful in your first image! Wowwww! Thanks for sharing all the beauty you see with us all Will!
@Jenna – Of course, it’s my pleasure! The sky was so incredible that afternoon, it stopped me in my tracks quite literally!
Stockholm looks absolutely lovely! Your pictures always inspire me (be they Iphone or DSLR pics). Movie wise I’ve only seen Lion on your list but boy was it a good movie. I don’t cry at movies (never) but I got teary eyed for this one. As for my plans this weekend well, I’m turning 30 this Sunday so tonight, my friends are throwing me a party, Saturday will be spent with my heart mate and friends from out of town and Sunday I’m having brunch with my mom. Mid-January has always been an extension of the holidays for me because of my birthday. By the end of January though, I’m ready for spring to get here (even though there’ll still be 2 months left to winter in my part of the world). Have a great weekend, can’t wait to see what pictures you come up with next time 🙂
@C.B. – Great to hear that Lion was so good because it’s top of the list. Thank you for your generous words about my travel pictures, too – really brought a smile to my face! And, more importantly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Sunday. It sounds like you have a super fun weekend of celebrations with family and friends – enjoy it! 🙂
Always love your photo diaries and travel blogs!! Your apt looked incredible, I remember seeing it on your instagram story too. Happy Friday and enjoy the movies. I loved La La Land!
@Harriet – Thanks so much for following along, I had a blast over in Scandinavia! La La Land is totally on the must-see list; glad you enjoyed it!
Those brightly colored houses just look like a fairy tale. I can see Little Red Riding Hood making her way down those cobbled streets. That kind of intense color makes me feel better, especially in January. And the stems of hyacinth make me want to go straight to the nursery for a potful! Thanks for the picker-upper.
@Libbynan – Right?! Total fairytale feels walking those streets. Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!
Amazing! Thanks for sharing! Stockholm is on the list of places I want to visit! Really enjoying your blog posts and photography! ??
@Bassam – My pleasure! It really is a gorgeous city; it has been nicknamed the Venice of The North as it consists of a series of islands connected by bridges. Thanks for following along! Have a lovely weekend.
