Whether as part of my #MrBazaarTravels adventures or on bike or foot around my city, it’s no secret that I love to explore! In fact, I’ve advocated both here and in my books about getting outdoors to seek design and color inspiration – it’s a great way to find ideas that you can then introduce into your rooms back at home. In 2016, Sanpellegrino® Sparkling Fruit Beverages launched Delightways – an interactive app that maps routes from A to B while encouraging you to wander, explore and discover. What I love about the app is it doesn’t map the most direct route to your destination, but rather guides you on a wandering path dotted with unexpected and inspiring stops for you to enjoy. In other words: it’s perfect for inspiration hunts! That’s why I was thrilled to work with Sanpellegrino® Sparkling Fruit Beverages to create a pathway for those looking for design inspiration in the Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY neighborhood. I’m sharing some sneak peeks at my Delightways path, so check it out below!
One of my favorite stops on my ‘Greenpoint Design’ pathway is Home of the Brave, which is the perfect store to find a unique gift for a loved one, or even something new to refresh your home. This quaint and locally owned and run design store stocks mostly smaller items for the home, with a colorful assortment of pillows, throws, rugs and more alongside occasional chairs and lighting. The sales assistants know the providence and design story of each item by heart which makes the experience of shopping here that bit more special. One of my favorite coffee shop meets design store spots in the city, Homecoming, also happens to be in Greenpoint, so naturally I included it in my pathway for the Delightways app. Botanicals are still a super popular design trend and Homecoming has everything you need to add a touch of green to your home. From amazing plants, to handmade pots, ceramic vases, cute greetings cards and more, it’s such a charming store that’s full of stylish, personal gems. There’s even a coffee bar and seating inside, too.Sanpellegrino® Sparkling Fruit Beverages come in a variety of flavors – I loved drinking Melograno e Arancia (Pomegranate & Orange) while creating my pathway! You and Yours Fine Vintage is another great design stop on my pathway – it’s a total design lover’s paradise that stocks everything from small accessories to larger furniture. This is just a little taster of my full design pathway through Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY, so be sure to download Delightways on iTunes or Google Play to check out my path in full! You can experience Delightways in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, Seattle, Boston and Atlanta. Join me tomorrow as I wander around Greenpoint with Delightways. Great post – all the photos are spectacular! That app looks like a great way to get out of the house and explore. I’m also a big fan of maps.me. It’s free and allows you to plan trips without internet – very helpful when you’re travelling overseas!
