This post is in partnership with Natrol. All opinions are my own.

Can you believe that Daylight Saving Time is just around the corner?! I can’t lie – I am so excited for the longer evenings. I wrote about getting a good night’s sleep in December and wanted to share some other routines and products that I have been trying. I was saying to my heartmate this week that when I get a good night’s sleep, I feel so motivated and ready for the day – I really believe that a good night’s sleep makes all the difference. I have also been trying out Natrol’s Melatonin Gummies as a way to help my occasional sleeplessness,† and I wanted to share my review of them too.

Last year I talked about how bedding can make a difference in getting a good night’s sleep, which I still swear by; for me, cool linen sheets make all the difference! Anyway, here are some other things that work for me. However, let’s be realistic – nothing is ever perfect, but they have made a huge difference, so I hope they might help you too:

1. Establish a regular sleep schedule

As much as possible, I try to stick to the same bedtimes and get-up times, which has made such a difference for me. When I stick to this routine, I feel like my body always knows what time it is going to get up, which means I am more relaxed. However, sometimes I have to pull a late night to get work done, and I just can’t stick to my usual get up times. When this happens, I try to be realistic and just push my getup by an hour and take a quick 10 minute nap during the day.

2. Exercise every day

Just wait. You re-read “every day”, I don’t mean a 60 minute spin class every day. I mean something like 10 minutes of walking – or even just stretching. I feel that if I have moved or done something in the day, then I sleep better. Even if that exercise is barely exercise, the fact that I have done something makes me feel good and helps me get to sleep.

3. Stop the screens

I have always liked to sleep without lights or even those annoying TV LEDs. I even always travel with some black tape so that I can stick it over TVs or flashing bedside phones in hotel rooms! I try to limit screen time before bed, and instead read and do not look at my phone.

I hope those ideas help you, as they have helped me sleep better. However, occasionally I still have problems sleeping, and I have been trying Natrol’s Melatonin products. I have personally been trying their Gummies specifically, and there are also Fast Dissolve or 3 a.m. Melatonin varieties for different needs.

I wanted to share my review of the Natrol Melatonin Gummies with you, as I have found them really helpful.  They come in the small plastic jar that’s sealed, and I had 90 gummies in the pack I received. You only take one gummy at a time, and I only take them occasionally when I need some extra help*. I have been using the strawberry flavored ones, and they taste and smell just like strawberry. I think they taste great and are very soft, too. The gummies are gelatin-free – so good for vegetarians – and they also don’t contain any synthetic dyes, which I like too. I have been taking them about 25 minutes before I want to go to sleep, and the nights where I have taken them, I have fallen asleep faster and stayed asleep longer.+ In the morning it just feels like I have had a good night’s sleep. They have really helped me!

If you’re like me, you sometimes wake up in the night and can’t go to sleep. In that case, you should try Natrol’s other product. When I wake up in the night, I start thinking about all the things I have to do tomorrow, and then I can’t settle back to sleep, as I keep going over these things in my head. What I do now keep some of Natrol’s 3 a.m. Melatonin in my nightstand drawer. The tablet just dissolves on your tongue, which has been a big help. This means that in the middle of the night, if I have woken up, then I have something to help me get to sleep. The tablet dissolves quickly, and I gradually just drift off to sleep. I have to say that I normally get back to sleep in 30 minutes, and that works for me!

This all being said, I have some problems sleeping, but 90% of the time I sleep well – as long as I exercise, avoid screens and keep to my sleep schedule. Natrol’s Melatonin helps me the rest of the time and it is something I feel comfortable using as it is 100% drug-free and easy to use. However, if you have serious sleep problems then do make sure to see a doctor.

Let me know what you thought of this review of Natrol’s Melatonin Gummies. Is there anything else you want to know?
